What is faith? Something you cannot see, you cannot touch, but it does affect everything you see and feel. It also affects how you interpret the world and the actions of other people. This is a book to provide a brief overview of the five major religions of the world nowadays: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism. Children can learn about the different aspects of each religion, such as the originals, beliefs, spiritual leaders, sacred texts, specific clothing and symbols, places and acts of worship, etc. The book is full of colourful and attractive photos that would facilitate young readers to grasp the information easily and understand religions shared among different countries and ethnic groups.

Different or the same, and conflicts or peaceful coexistence of religions is another focus of the book. Although the followers of each religion may be easily identified by their clothing, customs, ways of living or daily practices, their faiths are more alike than they are different. For example, the “Golden Rule” that is shared among all religions: “Treat others as you would have them treat you”. Furthermore, by reading this book, children can learn to respect other peoples who have different faiths and religions by understanding the difference and similarities between the religions.

Whether you are an adult or children, let’s start a journey of religion by appreciating the faiths and values of other people in the world.
