Other Library Activities

In addition to regularly organising a wide array of extension activities in various districts of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) also hosts many online reading programmes. We go beyond the geographical boundaries and reach out to the community at the same time to foster a reading culture in the city, and stimulate the exchange of ideas and dissemination of information.

Library-on-Wheels

A specially designed truck visits locations with heavier pedestrian flow but far from existing library facilities,  in order to familiarise non-frequent library users with the resources and services of public libraries.

Pick a Booket

The HKPL is collaborating with Make a Difference Institute on this new programme to present the children’s library collection in a creative way, aiming to co-create a brand-new reading experience with parents and 3-8 year-old kids.

Hong Kong Literature Festival

Aiming to encourage literary writing and reading, writers, scholars, cultural and arts workers are invited to participate in literary activities to exchange thoughts with literary enthusiasts.

Storytelling for Children

Branch libraries in various districts organise storytelling sessions in weekends for young readers.
