In addition to regularly organising a wide array of extension activities in various districts of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) also hosts many online reading programmes. We go beyond the geographical boundaries and reach out to the community at the same time to foster a reading culture in the city, and stimulate the exchange of ideas and dissemination of information.
Promote the idea of “curation of children’s books” by presenting selected books of various themes in customised bags for kids aged 3 to 8 and parents.
Visit locations with heavier pedestrian flow but far from existing library facilities in a convenient manner to promote reading and library services.
Branch libraries in various districts organise storytelling sessions in weekends for young readers.
