Introduction by Librarian
Every religion provides a unique way and unique solutions, to help people to find answers to life’s questions. What is correct and what is incorrect? What purpose does life serve? How shall I survive?
The book introduces five main religions in the world; including Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam.
Some religions have several gods but others have only one, or none. Some religions have a book to record down what are the rules and stories of that religion. Others just shared their traditions verbally, through songs, dance, storytelling, and other cultural customs passed from generation to generation.
Some people follow a certain faith. Some people move from one religion to another, and some people are non-religious. You have freedom to choose what you believe; it is your own decision.
Religion plays a significant role in the lives of the people who believe it, such as people celebrating with others, living in a common lifestyle, they may also dress in the same way. They also have specific rules to follow, such as how to behave to treat other people or what you can eat. It also has an impact on the lives of people who are non-religious.
This book provides a brief explanation of each of the five main religions. With colourful pictures to describe their cultures, customs, dressing and rituals, you will then learn and understand more about others to develop a harmonious community.
